Tyrone Traher II, known professionally as Paris Monroe, is a Canadian singer-songwriter from London, Ontario. With a long history of creative endeavours, Traher began developing the concept of Paris Monroe in January of 2021. Traher discovered that the purpose of Paris Monroe is to create self-aware and relentlessly honest music that captures the entire spectrum of the human experience.
Fast forward to the present day, the future looks bright for Paris Monroe. Working in collaboration with international award-winning engineer Aaron Murray (producer/engineer/mixer) and Juno award-winning, Grammy nominated engineer Dan Brodbeck (mastering engineer), Monroe released his debut EP Champagne & Cigarettes. Champagne & Cigarettes is an eclectic four-track project depicting four chapters of a romantic relationship. The overarching storyline and flow is reminiscent of concept albums from days past. The journey begins with the lead-off track, “Hot As Summer'' which is an effervescent bubblegum pop record that embodies the euphoric rush of spontaneous summer love. The EP concludes with “Sex With Your Ex”, an ominous guilt-ridden emo track that takes the listener through the aftermath of the once ‘perfect’ summer love. From beginning to end, Champagne & Cigarettes feels like a cinematic soundtrack that encapsulates the overwhelming intensity of the soaring highs and unbearable lows of being young and in love. One of the singles, “Saturday Night'' found international success. It spread around the globe gaining new fans and landing placements in McDonald’s, Slug & Lettuce, and Shakeaway, for In-Store Playlist Sync. The following track, “Stay” was added to an official Warner Music Group owned Major Label playlist!
Following this momentum, Paris Monroe is gearing up to begin a new era. Only a short month after the release of Champagne & Cigarettes, Monroe released the follow-up single “High". The young songwriter wanted to pay homage to his older influences, specifically, Johnny Cash. “High” is an indie folk track capturing the internal conflict of self-discovery and the growing pains of finding where you belong.
